1. What is NetStat Agent?

Netstat Agent is set of network tools useful in diagnosing network and 
monitoring network connections on your computer. It includes:

 * Netstat: displays list of network connections, including the information 
   on open TCP and UDP ports, IP address, and connection states. Also it 
   displays protocol statistics.
 
 * Ping: this tool helps to detect computer's or host's activity.
 
 * Tracer: allows you to know what hops are being used to route a packet of 
   data from your computer to the end point.
 
 * Route: retrieves the interface-to-IP address mapping table and  the IP 
   routing table. The IP routing table allows system to detect what IP 
   interface will be used to process request or datagram.
 
 * ARP: displays the mapping table IP-to-physical address.
 
Netstat Agent displays your computer network properties and retrieves adapter 
information for the local computer. It is aextremely useful tool for any 
network administrator.


2. Feature List

The main program features are: 

 * Display TCP and UDP connections. 
 * All new and removed connections are highlighted. 
 * Monitoring connection changes on your computer. 
 * Sound notifies for monitoring. 
 * User-defined filters. 
 * Displays property window for selected connections. 
 * Logging. 
 * Statistics of TCP, UDP, IP and ICMP protocols. 
 * Shows network and adapters properties. 
 * Shows IP interfaces and IP routes. 
 * Shows ARP cache.  
 * Tools: Ping, Tracer. 
 * HTML/Text reports for Ping and Tracer. 
 * Open/Save filter and monitor properties. 
 * Customize the program StartUp options. 
 * Customize the program interface. 
 * Customize the program hot keys.
 * Close established connection by user and monitor. 
 * Renews/releases the IP address for a specified interface.
 * Adds/deletes a route for the specified destination.
 * Adds a static entry to the ARP cache.
 * Removes the listed entry from the ARP cache.

3. Requirements

The 32-bit version requires Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003 Server.


4. Documentation

NetStat Agent help system uses latest HTML Help technology for easy 
searching answer for your questions. HTML Help support is included in 
latest versions (at least 4.0) of Microsoft Internet Explorer, 
Windows 98, Windows 2000, etc.

If you haven't HTML Help installed, you need to download it as standalone 
component from 

	www.microsoft.com/workshop/author/htmlhelp/
