"Auto Maintenance Minder 2.0 Help"
"For help, please send an email with your question to: automaint@hotmail.com"

"Main Screen"

"This is the screen where you will update all of the maintenance items you"
"have selected for your vehicle. "

"On the right side of the screen, note the maintenance status indicators. You"
"are told when services are due, and given the number of services due by date and the"
"number of services due by mileage. You will see a picture corresponding to "
"current maintenance status."

"Don't be alarmed if services show up in both the 'due by date' AND the 'due by mileage'"
"sections. You can safely update from either place. Any maintenance item can be updated"
"at any time -- just click on the maintenance item, then press the 'Update' button. "
"At this point, you will be brought into the update screen, where you can enter the "
"mileage/date that you performed the service, OR wait until the service is due by date,"
"OR wait until the service is due by mileage. (Note that many service items don't track"
"the date, but only the mileage). "

"To update a service item: For example: If your current mileage is 55000, and an oil"
"change was due at 54000, the status indicator will indicate that services are overdue."
"Click on the 'Change oil and filter' in either the 'due by mileage' or 'due by date'"
"section to highlight the maintenance item, and press the 'Update' button. This will "
"bring you into the update screen where you can enter the new service information."

"Upon entering new service information, the next interval is computed, and the display"
"on the main screen is updated reflecting the new mileage/date/etc you entered."

"NOTE: YOU CAN UPDATE ANY SERVICE ITEM AT ANY TIME. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE DUE!"

"ALSO NOTE: All future service items are always shown. This is for your reference! "

"In the upper left hand corner, you will see the current (or last updated)"
"mileage of your vehicle. To update the mileage, click the 'Update Mileage' button "
"to the right of the mileage display. If you are keeping track of gas mileage, you "
"will be given an opportunity to enter fuel information at this time."

"Some of the following options/buttons are disabled if you chose not to track "
"fuel usage or maintenance."

"Below the 'Current Mileage' box is the 'Gas Mileage' box. This box will show your"
"current MPG, average MPG, low MPG, high MPG, and whether or not your gas mileage is "
"falling, steady, or rising. NOTE: You will see a N/A in this spot until you have at"
"least 8 fuel entries. This feature monitors mileage by dividing all your average MPG"
"readings into two progresive sections and comparing them to the average MPG. For your"
"info only... it may fluctuate greatly until you have quite a few fuel entries. "

"Fuel Log/Reports. Press this button to view all the entries you have made for your"
"gas mileage. You may customize this report by entering your own dates and pressing"
"the 'Refresh' button. (Note: the dates you enter must correspond with the entries in"
"the log: for example, you cannot enter an earlier OR later date than what you have"
"records for.) You may also print the fuel log from here or delete an entry. Deleting"
"entries is NOT recommended, as it can skew your gas mileage numbers! Don't delete"
"entries unless you have made a mistake with your most recent entry!"

"Note the fuel mileage graph. As you get more and more entries in your fuel log,"
"the graph will automatically start to 'average' gas mileage over a period of time."

"Maintenance Log/Report. Press this button to view all the entries in your maintenance"
"log. If you are keeping a maintenance log, Auto Maintenance Minder automatically "
"enters scheduled maintenance items into the log, so you don't need to enter anything"
"but unscheduled maintenance items here. If your car needs an unscheduled repair, you"
"can enter it here by pressing the 'Add entry to maintenance log' button. You may also"
"print the fuel log from here, or delete an entry. You may also customize the maintenance"
"log over a period of time by entering the dates and pressing the 'refresh' button."
"(Note: the dates you enter must correspond with entries in the log. If the last entry"
"in the log is 10/20/01, you can't specify a date past that, such as 10/21/01.)"

"Modify setup. You can at any time change your settings for the currently selected "
"vehicle. For example, if you want to adjust the mileage increment for changing your"
"oil, just go into 'modify setup' and look for the proper entry. Make your changes,"
"page to the end of the setup screens, and your changes will be saved."

"Help. You are in this now."

"Return to main menu. Saves all open files and returns you to the main auto selection"
"screen."
