Stickums has many options that you may use to
customize the program to your liking. You may access the
Options by one of two ways:
1. When the Stickums Menu is visible (not minimized), click
on the "Stickums Options" icon;
2. When the Stickums Menu is minimized, right-click on the
Stickum program icon in the System Tray (located in the
lower right corner of the screen) and select "View Options".
The following gives a description of each program option. All
stickum options (such as appearance) under the Stickum
program options only apply to
newly created stickums (i.e., they are default stickum properties). If you
want to change the properties of a stickum that already exists,
please read Setting Individual Stickum
Properties.
Program Options - General
| Name |
Your name goes here. It is required if
you intend on e-mailing stickums. |
| Title |
Your title goes here. May be
left blank. |
| Organization |
Your organization goes here. May be
left blank. |
| Always on top |
If this box is checked, all desktop
stickums created will remain the topmost window. |
| Toolbar |
If this box is checked, all desktop
stickums created will have a toolbar. |
| Prompt for new stickum title |
If this box is checked, the title
on a newly created stickum will be ready for editing. Use this if
you title all of your stickums. |
| Default stickum size |
Sets the dimensions for newly
created desktop stickums. |
Program Options - Appearance
| Change Font Options |
Sets the font name, size and style
for newly created stickums. |
| Text color |
Sets the text color for newly
created stickums. |
| Background color |
Sets the background color for
newly created stickums. |
| Display background picture |
If this box is checked, all newly
created stickums will display the image file specified in the command
button below it. |
| Background picture command button |
Selects the background image file
for all newly created stickums.
Supported image formats include .bmp, .dib, h.gif, .jpg, .wmf, .emf,
.ico, and .cur. |
Program Options - Alarm/Password
| Play sound |
If this is checked, all
newly created stickums whose alarms are set will play the
sound file specified in the command button below it. The only
supported sound file format is .wav. |
| Alarm sound file command button |
Selects the alarm sound file for all
newly created stickums. |
| Flashing window |
If this is checked, all
newly created stickums whose alarms are set will flash when the
alarm goes off. |
| Open/Close |
If this box is checked, all newly
created stickums whose password protection is enabled will prompt for
a password before being able to open the stickum for viewing and to
close the stickum. Please read Setting
Password Protection for more information. |
| Read-only |
If this box is checked, all newly
created stickums whose password protection is enabled will prompt for
a password before being able to edit the stickum's text, properties
or behavior settings. Please read Setting
Password Protection for more information. |
Program Options - Networking
| E-mail address |
Type the your e-mail address
here. This is required if you intend on e-mailing stickums. |
| SMTP server |
Type the mail server you
will be using here. This is required if you intend on e-mailing
stickums. |
| Address book command button |
Selects the address book file for
e-mail alias names. Change only if you are sharing your address
book file with another user. Read Address and
Send Books for more information. |
| Listening port |
The port at which Stickums listens
for incoming stickum data from another use. Set to 0 (zero) if you
want to disable networking. Change from default if another program
uses the same port. |
| Send book command button |
Selects the send book file for
network alias names. Change only if you are sharing your send
book file with another user. Read Address and
Send Books for more information. |
