WebCab Statistics incorporates evaluation procedures of standard quantitative measures of centrality (mean) and dispersion of (discrete) numerical sets with our scalable Enterprise JavaBeans. The JavaBeans includes weighted averages, geometric mean, Inter-Quartile range, mean and standard deviation, sample variance and the coefficient of variation.

New Features: Self-Deploy, EAR Files

By clicking the self-install package the EJB component will be automatically deployed onto a supported local EJB application server. We also include multiple EAR files designed for each of the most widely used application servers (see details).

This Enterprise JavaBeans implements and evaluates the following:

• Measures of Mean
  • Arithmetic mean - a measure of centrality for quantitative data
  • Median - the middle value when the observations are arranged in order of magnitude
  • Mode - the most frequently occurring observation
  • Weighted Average - the arithmetic average of a weighted set
  • Geometric mean - the nth root of the product of all numerical observations
  • Range - the difference between the largest and smallest observation
• Measures of Dispersion
  • Inter-Quartile Range (IQR) - a measure of dispersion which is not affected by extreme values
  • Mean Deviation - the sum of the distances between the observation and the arithmetic mean
  • Sample Variance - the sum of the squares of the distances between the observations and the arithmetic mean
  • Sample Standard Deviation - the measure of dispersion has the same units as the observation and is the square root of the sample variance
  • Coefficient of variation - computes the spread of sets for observations which have been made in different units

• Rational Rose Models - to assist designers of large enterprise applications we include Rational Models of the home and remote interface
• JDBC Support - this component fully support JDBC allowing seamless integration with JDBC compliant database management systems
• Synthetic JDBC - we use a JSP component to perform EJB calculations on SQL database columns from a remote DBMS. We apply an EJB function to certain rows from the database and list the output in HTML format. This is a powerful feature since it allows you to perform calculations in a JDBC manner without having to hardcode the EJB-to-JDBC transaction yourself as it is all done by the JSP within the Application Server
