Publishing as a HTML WEB Presentation

Presentation Publisher can generate the HTML files needed to make your presentation viewable from the Internet or an Intranet. The HTML files created are standard HTML which can be viewed from any WEB browser. (Like IE, Netscape, Web TV, etc.) Due to the limitations of HTML, some of the features of Presentation Publisher are not supported. To see the limitations, click here.

When you publish your WEB presentations, they will each be placed in a SUB FOLDER (which is the presentation name) off of xxxxxx\Published Presentations\Web Presentations (Where xxxxxx is the name of the folder that Presentation Publisher program was installed into. Usually c:\program files\presentation publisher)

After your WEB presentation is published, you simply have to copy the folder mentioned above and all files in that folder to a folder on your web server. (The folder on the web server should be the same name as the one that is created on your hard drive.) You can use any FTP program to transfer these files to your web server.

Publishing Options

HTML File Names Used

    Use Prefix plus a number
        Select this option if you want the HTML filenames to be a prefix plus a number.
        (ie: If your prefix = "Slide" then the generated filenames would be Slide1.htm Slide2.htm Slide3.htm)

    Use Current Slide Names
        Select this to have the HTML filenames be the slide name that was entered into the editor when you created the slide.

Bottom Links On Every Page
    Use this option if you want to have buttons on the bottom every page that link to you home page and/or email address.

Limitations of the HTML WEB Presentations.

Due to the limitations of the WEB and HTML, some features that are available when you publish as a Stand-Alone program, are not available when you publish as a WEB presentation. You do not need to use the editor and change your presentation because of these limitations. These limitations will be incorporated automatically when you publish your presentation.

* Digital Effects (fades, wipes, dissolves) are not available. All images are displayed instantly with no effect.
* Foreground pictures are not scaled, tiled or stretched. All foreground pictures are displayed in their original size.
* Random background music is not supported, however if a slide has an audio file attached to it, the audio file will play immediately when the slide is displayed.
* Borders will not be displayed around foreground or background images.
* The presentation will not run in "auto" mode (where each slide changes after a certain amount of time). On the top of each slide there will be a navigation bar that the user will use to change to the next slide when they are ready.
