Using your Collection

 

Now you are ready to use the collection.

 To search for a song in your collection

You use the Search Option Controls. Type in a keyword you would like to search for in the textbox, select whether the keyword is in the track name or the album name and press the Search Button.

Your results will be displayed in the Search Results List.

Click on a result and the information displayed in the Disk/Album Control and the Songs Control will be updated. The Disk/Album control will display the album containing the result that you clicked on. If you had searched by tracks, the Songs Control will display the track you clicked on.

 

  To Play a song/Album in your collection

When Songs are displayed in the Songs Control, you can double click it to listen to it. By default, the track you click on will be played by the catalog program. There are two options that can effect the playback in the Options Menu.

  • If you select Winamp when you click on the track it will be played by Winamp (or whichever player you selected when you were prompted).

  • If you select Volume, then all the songs listed in the songs control will be played by Winamp or the catalog program.

Ensure that the disk that contains the song you want to listen to is available.

To Copy songs from your collection locally to burn to cd

When songs are displayed in the Songs Control, when you right click a track you will see a popup menu prompting you to Add Track or Add Volume.

If you choose to Add Track, the track you have highlighted will be added to the Copy List Control and if you choose to Add Volume all the songs displayed will be added.

As you add Songs to the list, the status bar will be updated indicating the number of songs and the total playing time for the songs.

When you right click on the Copy List Control you will be presented with a menu of four options:

  • Copy - Will prompt you to specify a local drive to copy your selections to. You will be prompted for the required disks.

  • Delete - If you have added song(s) to your list by mistake, select the corresponding checkbox and this option to delete the song(s)

  • Clear - Clear the list completely

  • Random - You will be prompted for a number of songs and the catalog will populate the list with random selections.
