You can disable the Standard (Navigation) Toolbar and Address (Location) Bar of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Browser Commander will take over this features with extra functionality and the benefit of a larger view area. Browser Commander will only be displayed when your browser is active and when you move the mouse pointer to the top of the screen. IMPORTANT: Set the correct version of your browser in the Browser Commander options panel.
Browser Commander can accurately control Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer when running simultaneously on the same computer if the correct version of both is set in the Browser Commander options panel.
After typing an address in the address bar and pressing enter, you can type the next address without clicking with the mouse on the address bar. Browser Commander uses intelligent selection so you do not have to type "www" every time and it always directs keyboard input to the address bar, saving you all the extra mouse and keyboard work.
If it happens that the address bar looses it's text selection, the mouse can be moved away from the Browser Commander bar until it hides. Now move the mouse to the top of the screen to activate Browser Commander again. The text in Browser Commander's address bar will be selected again.
The scrolling of your browser's window content can be handled directly with the extended features of Browser Commander. The 4 buttons below the "Back" and "Forward" buttons on the toolbar provide you with Scroll Up, Scroll Down, Page Up and Page Down functionality. By right-clicking on the Scroll Up or Scroll Down buttons, Browser Commander will automatically scroll your browser's window while you sit back and watch the content.
You can set the delay of Auto Scrolling and the speed retention of Manual Scrolling in the Browser Commander options panel.
If nothing happens while you are in Auto Scroll Mode check the value of the Auto Scroll Delay setting in the Browser Commander options panel. If still nothing happens, click anywhere on the web page in your browsers window. Try to Auto Scroll again.
If you visit a web site that displays different pages in different sections (frames) in the browser window, click on the one that you want to Auto Scroll. Go back to Browser Commander and activate Auto Scroll Mode.
If Browser Commander refuses to display, makes sure that your browser is in the foreground. Sometimes it might appear to be in the foreground, but it is not. To solve this, click anywhere inside the browser window on the web page. Now move back to the top of the screen inside the Browser Commander activation points.
When an input field prompting you to enter information on the web page has the cursor focused on it, the Browser Commander scroll buttons will appear not to be working. Click anywhere on the web page to set the cursor focus away from the input field. Browser Commander's Scrolling will now function again.
If you need to re-install Browser Commander, first exit Browser Commander by clicking on Options | Display | Unload Program. Then uninstall Browser Commander by going to My Computer | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs. Select Browser Commander from the list of programs and click on the Add/Remove button.
