(Q) Okay i have installed the program, what to do next ?

(A) The first thing to do would be adding a new device to check.
Press the "editor" button to bring up the device editor.
Choose if you want to use a "Service check" for a device that runs a service
on a specified port in the network, like a HTTP server at port 80,
or to use a "Ping command" to check a device that does not run a service,
    like a router or print-server.

Then fill in the apropriate fields and press the "+".
You have now added and saved the new device, simple as that. Press play to verify
that the device is online and running. Later if you wish to modify the info regarding
this, or one of the other devices on the list, simply choose it from the drop-down list
enter your new info and press the arrow. The device info is now modified and saved.
If you wish to add more devices, simply follow the first step again.

(Q) What does the "Auto-check" do, and what are all the numbers ?

(A) The Auto-check function will scan the list of devices automaticaly with the interval
you choose in the drop-down box. If one of the devices should fail to respond while
the program is minimized to tray or taskbar, it will pop back to normal state and the
icon in the taskbar will flash.

(Q) Can Box Monitor run as a system service under Win NT ?

(A) The "Load on system startup" option used together with "Use last known Autocheck
value on program launch and start scanning" will launch the program when the system
is started and start checking the device list with the last known interval used by
the Autocheck feature, without any user input required. Program will simply reside
in systray and do it's job.

(Q) When one of the devices i monitor go offline and i have set options dialog to
send me a mail, nothing happens.. why ?

(A) The first thing to check is the E-mail address you have typed in the options dialog.
You would be surprised how many people type in a wrong "send to" address.
Of course this inhibits the program in performing this task so please verify that the
address is the correct one. Also ensure that there is at least one of your monitored
devices added to the "email if down list", also in the options dialog.

(Q) When one of the devices i monitor go offline and i have set options dialog to
log to .txt file on the HD, nothing happens.. why ?

(A) In the options dialog there's a "checkbox" where you can enable/disable this function.
The logging will not start before you enable the checkbox, even if you have selected a
place and a name for the logfile to be saved.

(Q) In the options dialog i have set Box Monitor to "Run external file on device failure"
    but nothing happens.. why ?

(A) In the options dialog there's a "checkbox" where you can enable/disable this function.
The launch will not happen before you enable the checkbox, even if you have selected
    a file to be executed.

(Q) In the options dialog i have set Box Monitor to "Activate sleep mode with below info"
    but nothing happens.. why ?

(A) In the options dialog there's a "checkbox" where you can enable/disable this function.
Sleep-mode will not be invoked before you enable the checkbox, even if you have selected
    a time period.

(Q) In the options dialog i have set Box Monitor to "Use last known Autocheck value
on program launch and start scanning"
    but nothing happens.. why ?

(A) The most likely cause for this is that Autocheck was disabled when you left the program
last time you used it. If you press STOP you will reset the Autocheck timer, hence next
time the program starts, the timer will be 0min. To use this feature simply exit the prog.
    with the autocheck option running.

(Q) When Box Monitor is launched it minimizes directly to the systray.. why ?

(A) Because you have set it up to do so in the "Option" dialog by checking the "Load on
system startup". With this feature enabled the program will always load directly
    to the systray.
