In this example, a virtual root, a permission, an administrator, and a user will be created, then all of these will be deleted (For Ez4file Standard Edition, the license key should be added before try this example):

• Creating a virtual root:

  • Logon as Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on Root on the left pane, Root's default window is Root - New,

  • Enter "efxmprt" in the Alias field,

  • Enter "C:\efexample" in the Full path name field,

  • Check the CheckBox to let Ez4file create the new directory automatically if it is not exist,

  • Click on OK.

  On drive C, a directory "efexample" should be there.

• Creating an administrator:

  • Logon as Built-in Administrator due to no any administrator exists now,

  • In the configuration window, click on User on the left pane, User's default window is User - New,

  • Enter "efadminxmp" in the UserID field,

  • Enter "efpwxmpa" in the Password field and Confirm Password field,

  • Check the RedioBox for Administrator,

  • No Permission need to be select for administrator account (administrator account can access all created roots),

  • Click on OK.

  Administratot efadminxmp has been created.

• Granting access right to administrator account:

  • Logon as Built-in Administrator due to no administrator account allowed to logon now,

  • In the configuration window, click on Logon on the left pane,

  • Check the CheckBox for Administrator,

  • Click on OK.

  The administrator efadminxmp should be able to logon to Ez4file with password efpwxmpa now.

• Creating a permission:

  • Logon as administrator or Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on Permission on the left pane, Permission's default window is Permission - New,

  • Enter "efpmxmp" in the Alias field,

  • Select "efxmprt" in the Root folder dropdown list,

  • Enter "eftest\test1" in the Path name field,

  • Check the CheckBox to let Ez4file create the new directory automatically if it is not exist,

  • Check all CheckBoxes for Rights field.

  • Click on OK.

  On drive C, a directory "efexample\eftest\test1" should be there.

• Creating a user:

  • Logon as administrator or Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on User on the left pane, User's default window is User - New,

  • Enter "efuserxmp" in the UserID field,

  • Enter "efpwxmpu" in the Password field and Confirm Password field,

  • Check the RedioBox for User,

  • In Permission dropdown list, select efpmxmp, if there is only one permission in the list, just leave other dropdown lists are empty.

  • Click on OK.

  User efuserxmp has been created.

• Granting access right to user account:

  • Logon as administrator or Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on Logon on the left pane,

  • Check the CheckBox for User,

  • Click on OK.

  The user efuserxmp should be able to logon to Ez4file with password efpwxmpu now.

• Deleting user efuserxmp:

  • Logon as administrator or Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on User -> Suspend on the left pane,

  • Select "efuserxmp" in the UserID dropdown list,

  • Click on OK.

  • Click on OK in the User - Suspend window.

  • In the configuration window, click on User -> Delete on the left pane,

  • Select "efuserxmp" in the UserID dropdown list,

  • Click on OK.

  • Click on OK in the User - Delete window.

  User efuserxmp has been Deleted.

• Withdrawing access right to user account:

  • Logon as administrator or Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on Logon on the left pane,

  • Uncheck the CheckBox for User,

  • Click on OK.

  In Logon window, User should disappeared from left pane.

• Deleting a permission:

  • Logon as administrator or Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on Permission -> Delete on the left pane,

  • Select "efpmxmp" in the Permission dropdown list,

  • click on OK, and bring up Permission - Delete window,

  • Check the CheckBox beside Delete the folder and sub-folders to let Ez4file delete the directory and sib-directories automatically,

  • Click on OK.

  On drive C, a directory "C:\efexample\eftest\test1" should be deleted.

• Deleting administrator efadminxmp:

  • Logon as Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on User -> Suspend -> on the left pane,

  • Select "efadminxmp - Administrator" in the UserID dropdown list,

  • Click on OK.

  • Click on OK in the User - Suspend window.

  • In the configuration window, click on User -> Delete -> on the left pane,

  • Select "efadminxmp - Administrator" in the UserID dropdown list,

  • Click on OK.

  • Click on OK in the User - Delete window.

  Administrator efadminxmp has been Deleted.

• Withdrawing access right to user account:

  • Logon as administrator or Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on Logon on the left pane,

  • Uncheck the CheckBox for Administrator,

  • Click on OK.

  In Logon window, Administrator should disappeared from left pane.

• Deleting a virtual root:

  • Logon as Built-in Administrator,

  • In the configuration window, click on Root - > Delete on the left pane,

  • Select "efxmprt" in the Root folder dropdown list,

  • Click on OK to bring up Root - Delete window.

  • Check the CheckBox beside Delete the folder and sub-folders to let Ez4file delete the directory and its sub-directories automatically,

  • Click on OK.

  On drive C, a directory "C:\efexample" and its sub-directories should be deleted.
