Installing One Instance on a Computer

To install one instance of Ez4file on a computer:

  • Unzip an efx#-#-#.zip into a folder. Then the files readme.txt, efx#-#-#.msi and efx#-#-#.bat should be there.

  • Double click on efx#-#-#.bat to launch the Microsoft Installer.

  • For fresh installation (first time to install Ez4file on a computer):

    • Click on Next button to get License Agreement window.

    • Select "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" and click Next button.

    • In Choose Setup Type window:

      • Click on either Typical or Complete button to install Ez4file into default folder.

      • Click on Custom button to install Ez4file into a folder you selected.

        • Click Browse button to select a folder.

        • Don't change features installation settings in this widow.

    • Click on Install button in Ready to Install window to begin the installation.

    • Click Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard.

    • Last step for fresh installation is to write an IP Address of the Web Server into Ez4file configuration file:

      • Click on Windows Start button.

      • Click on Programs -> Ez4file -> Ez4file Server IP Address, Notepad will be lauched with file efsid.txt.

      • Replace the second line, which is "0.0.0.0" now, with real Web Server IP Address.

      • First line "ef.yourdomain.com" is not really needed to change.

      • Save the file.

    • Fresh installation is done.

  • For update installation (including installing Standard Edition over Trial Edtion, Personal Edtion upgrade to Standard Edtion, and version upgrade)

    • Click on Next button to get Modify, Repair or remove installation window.

    • in the "Modify, Repair or remove installation" window, select Repair. (DON'T SELECT OTHER CHOICES)

    • Click on Repair button to start the full installation.

    • Click Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard.

    • Update installation is done.

  • One instance of Ez4file has been installed on a computer now.
