----------------------------------------------------------
1. What WebWalk Does:
----------------------------------------------------------
You've Never Really Seen The Internet Without It!

WebWalk is a software utility which works closely
with the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser
to collect urls from various internet url providers
such as search engines and search or just
     navigate the urls.

It can be run fully automatic, or the user can
     guide every step.

Up to 80 search criteria can be entered.

Over 400 user controls in WebWalk.

Site Data for 27 search engines preinstalled. The
user can add as many more as necessary.

    1. Simplifies searching internet databases.
    2. Simplifies browsing internet web sites.
    3. Simplifies downloading files from the internet.

WebWalk will make browsing, searching the internet
so easy that it will be a fun thing to do.

----------------------------------------------------------
2. System Requirements:
----------------------------------------------------------

IE5:
WebWalk requires that Microsoft Internet Explorer
Version 5.5 or later to be installed on your Computer.
It can be downloaded for free from:
    www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm

Windows XP users:
You probably don't need any additional files to run
WebWalk. Except the mapi control to send email
    from the included editor.

The following applies to Win9x, WinMe, 2000.

ADO v2.5 - v2.8, MDAC_TYP.exe (ADO = ActiveX Data Objects)
The reason I say you may need ADO v2.5 - 2.8 is
because WebWalk requires the Microsoft Jet 4.0
database engine and Microsoft has stated that
they stopped including it in ADO (MDAC_TYP.exe) after v2.5, but
WebWalk was created using v2.8 so we have a bit of a problem:

    1. WebWalk requires ADO (MDAC_TYP.exe) v2.8
    2. WebWalk requires Jet 4.0 DB engine which is not in ADO v2.8
    3. Last distribution of ADO which included the Jet DB engine was v2.5

    Conclusion:
The user may need to install both v2.5 and v2.8
If you have MS Access you should have the Jet 4.0 engine.

    ADO v2.5 :
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=c57692e9-dde7-4a60-b586-5d4fd6794db6&languageid=f49e8428-7071-4979-8a67-3cffcb0c2524&displaylang=en

    ADO v2.8 :
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en

MSVBVM60.DLL
You may also need the Microsoft Visual Basic v6sp5
runtime files. They will not be included in all
distributions of this application. If you do not have
them they can be downloaded from the following URL
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/VBRun60sp5.exe

windows Me / XP / 2000
Some versions of Windows have ADO & the VB6 runtime files
pre-installed as part of the operating system.
    WinMe, 2000 pre-install ADO v 2.5
WinXP pre-installs ADO v2.7 and the runtimes.
If you have Microsoft Access installed on your computer
it will include the Jet DB engine.

Sending email with the included Editor.exe requires that the user have
the Mapi Control MSMAPI32.OCX registered on their computer.
     Should be placed in C:\windows\system32
If you don't have it search www.google.com for MSMAPI32.OCX,
download it and then register it on your computer.

Does not require, but will use intels JGP conversion library (ijl11.dll) if available.
This will enable saving graphics dropped on the Manual
windows Go button as JPGs rather than BMPs.
----------------------------------------------------------
        3. Legal, notice:

----------------------------------------------------------
        4. Setting WebWalk up:
----------------------------------------------------------

1st.Make sure you have Microsoft's Internet
Explorer Version 5.5 or later installed on
    your computer.
It can normally be found in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
If it is not there then you will need to install it
    before installing WebWalk.

2nd.Make sure that you have the latest MDAC_TYP.exe
    installed (ADO v 2.5 - 2.8; ActiveX Data Objects)

3rd.Make sure you have the VB Runtime files installed.

4th.Run the WebWalk Setup.exe file you have here.
The installation process may need to restart your
computer to update windows driver files, if so you
may need to restart setup.exe after your computer
restarts. WebWalk installation will not automatically
continue where it left off. The reason for this is
that VB6 programs require DCOM older versions did not.

----------------------------------------------------------
        5. Getting Started with WebWalk after installation:
----------------------------------------------------------

After installing WebWalk you will find the program group by
clicking the Start menu, selecting programs, and from there
    selecting the WebWalk program group.

When WebWalk starts for the first time on your computer it
will create WebWalk-0.mdb database file which
it will use to store all of your saved data.

Once WebWalk is done creating the database all you need
    to do to is:

    1. Connect to the internet.
    2. Right click the Go button and select a search site
       from the menu.
    3. Once the site is fully loaded in Microsoft Internet Explorer
you will need to do a search on that search site:
Type some text into the search box and click their
search button (on the web browser).
    4. Once the search results are completely downloaded
click the Go button on the Auto tab of WebWalk.

WebWalk will automatically collect the result
links and start navigating to the web sites.

    5. To collect and save data from these sites
see the WebWalk help file WebWalk.chm.

----------------------------------------------------------
        6. The files that WebWalk installs:
----------------------------------------------------------

WebWalk will install the following files
    into the directories named:
+++++++++++++++++++++
Files that will be installed in
           Windows System directory:
                   (C:\Windows\System\) or (C:\Windows\System32\)

Several of these files probably existed on your system prior
to installing WebWalk. They are common Microsoft
redistribution files used by a variety of windows programs.
WebWalk will install them if they do not exist.

    MSHFLXGD.OCX [Microsoft Flex Grid control]
MSSTDFMT.DLL [Accompanies the flex grid control]
RICHTX32.OCX [Microsoft rich text box control]
RICHED32.DLL [Accompanies the rich text box control]
    COMDLG32.OCX [Microsoft common dialog control]
    MSINET.OCX [Microsoft internet transfer control]
+++++++++++++++++++++
Files that will be installed in
           WebWalk's working directory:
                   (C:\Program Files\WebWalk\)

    WebWalk.exe [WebWalk program executable]
    WebWalk.chm [WebWalk help file]
    WebWalk.xml [WebWalk PAD file]
    readme.txt [This text file]
    Editor.exe [editor provided with WebWalk]
The first time WebWalk is run it will create
    WebWalk-0.mdb in it's working directory.

The following entry will be made in the windows registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
   Software\
      VB and VBA Program Settings\
         (WebWalk - youruserID)

----------------------------------------------------------
        7. Manually Uninstalling WebWalk:
----------------------------------------------------------

If you use the control panel add/remove programs
the registry entry will not be removed.
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\(WebWalk - youruserID)
Nor will the files that WebWalk has created since
installation (WebWalk-0.mdb, etc.) or it's directory.

1. Delete all of the above system directory entries.
(Some, or all of these DLL's, and OCX controls
may be being used by other windows programs.)

2. Delete the WebWalk directory and all of it's files.
(None of these files will be being used by windows)

3. Delete the WebWalk registry key named above.
You will need to run regedit.exe and find the key
(at the path given above) and delete it.

----------------------------------------------------------
     8. Enhancements since the previous version.
----------------------------------------------------------

There have been numerous small enhancements that aren't noted here.
WebWalk's help file, WebWalk.chm, has been enhanced. Most graphics
in the help file are now clickable ImageMaps leading to help content.

06/19/05: Fixed Site Data Urls so that they can be the root segment of

ISPs assign new IPs with each new connection.

06/24/05: Fixed Manual Magnify so that it magnifies active item
when preset timer control is clicked and not just AutoText Url.

06/27/05: Right clicking the foto browse button to execute AnyTag function

Dropping graphic on the manual window's Go button
will save the files as *.jpg files if the above DLL exists in the path
on your computer and is registered. It searches the PATH
enviroment variable directories for the file. If it finds it then it will
use it. ...Windows\system32 is usually in the path.

07/04/05: Added Copy url function the AutoText menu

07/06/05: AutoText url now auto updates when the user edits the url

   07/08/05: Extended all lists from A - E to A - J
There are now ten lists for all manual list windows
                and Auto window saved urls.

url collection. See Tags Window in help file.

07/19/05: Changed all Url fields to type Memo.

07/21/05: Added access to all WebWalk database tables
through the Data window's grid. Records can only be
                 deleted from user tables.

07/22/05: WebWalk can now save the full html of web pages
to the SiteSummary table's FullPage field. An error was
                 fixed that was truncating pages.

08/01/05: New experimental function to split Manual list windows
and show two Manual lists at once.

----------------------------------------------------------
        9. DataChanges:
----------------------------------------------------------

To continue using your old WebWalk v1.8 database you will
need to make some manual changes to the old database file.

The easiest way to do this is with MS Access.

If you have MS Access follow these steps:
      1. Move your old WebWalk database and allow
WebWalk version 1.8 to create a new blank database.
      2. Load your old WebWalk database in access.
      3. Select File, then Get External Data, then Import from access's menus.
      4. Select the New WebWalk v1.9 database to import from.
      5. On the Import Objects dialog hold down Cntrl and highlight all
new tables. Then click OK. Then delete the Block table.
      6. Change all Url field data types to Memo. Max. one Url field per table.
      7. Change the SiteSummary table's FullPage field data type to OLE Object
