Important AVI Information:

	- AntiSteg does not download or install codecs, which may be
required to process an AVI file (play it back). In fact,
AntiSteg will not access the Internet! It has no such
capabilities built in on purpose. If you receive a warning
that a codec may be missing, you should verify whether the
AVI file can be played back with a standard movie player.
If playback is not possible, you should consider the file
a possible security risk and remove it. No need to keep
an AVI File around that cannot be played back!

	- Make sure you have at least the standard Windows FCC Handler
(MSVC) installed, or the one from DIVX.
Otherwise, AntiSteg may fail on certain AVIs (AVI Error (1006),
	AVI Error (4)).
Try to open the AVI file with Windows Media Player. If necessary,
install it, or obtain a third party solution.

	- If you receive AVI Error (1), this indicates that AntiSteg
is not able to open the AVI file using Microsoft's VFW AVIFile
API, which is used by AntiSteg. This is a PROBLEM which Microsoft
has introduced! This does not mean, that the AVI file is corrupt.

	- If you receive AVI Error (7), this indicates a memory allocation
error. A likely reason for why this error occurs, is that
information stored within the AVI file is incorrect, forcing very large
memory allocations that ultimately will FAIL!
You may want to treat such an AVI file with care, especially if it
	is small in size!

	- If you receive AVI Error (1001), this indicates that the AVI file
is considered to be in a "bad format". This situation is similar
to AVI Error (1). Microsoft, considers the AVI to be in an incorrect
format, even if most movie players have no problem playing it back.
You may encounter this problem, even with AVI files distributed
	(and created?) by Microsoft (sic!).

	- Antistegging AVI files can be time consuming. So be patient!
AntiSteg will display progress information on a regular basis.

Final Note:
____________

You should always inspect AVI files, for which AntiSteg returns an error code,
and at least verify if the movie can be played back on your computer.
If it cannot, you should consider removing it.
After all, an AVI file that cannot be played back is at best dead wood,
a waste of storage, and at worst a security risk!
